Thanks to everyone who entered our Christmas Quiz and congratulations to the children at Spring Park Primary School.  They were the first correct entry out of the hat so they are our winners!  Well done to you all.

The prizes –  a beautifully crafted and brilliantly handy paper potter, 2 non-electric propagators, 2 hand trowels, 2 pairs of kids gardening gloves and a kids watering can, will be winging their way in the next few days and we hope they are going to be wonderfully useful in the growing season ahead!

This month we thought that it would be fun to have some word game competitions. 

For the Schools Competition we have some well-known birds for you, but they are all in a bit of a feathery flap and need to be unjumbled.  Find all the details on how to enter here and if you can name the 10 birds send your entry to us to arrive no later than 30th June 2010. 

The winning school will receive a handy Raised Bed Double Module Starter Kit, a packet of Instant Meadow Seeds to attract a wealth of bees and butterflies to the garden, a handy laminated, full colour Guide to British Butterflies plus the fab Buzzing CD …a fun celebration of garden creepy crawlies.

For the Family Competition we thought you might enjoy a word linking game.

Our latest Family Zone Competition & School Zone Competition, both end on 18th December, so get your entries in to us as soon as possible and you could be a winner!  The prizes are fantastic and will set you up with lots of gardening equipment well in time for spring, and the busiest time in the gardening year.

For Schools ….

For school entrants we are looking for the best Indoor Grow Your Own project carried out in the Autumn term. If crops aren’t ready to harvest when the competition comes to a close, don’t worry just send your entry with news of where the project is up to so far. Include a written description in no more than 500 words, plus photographs of your project.

Growing potatoes is one of the easiest and most rewarding gardening activities to do with children

So tell us about a growing project that you have carried out this Autumn. It could involve planting a tree or several, setting bulbs ready for spring, or growing some winter vegetables. The project can be carried out indoors or outside, which ever you prefer.

In no more than 500 words tell us all about what you did. Take pictures, make drawings and make your entry as colourful as you like.
